Inside the Ring of Steel Around the Boston Marathon
Fri Apr 18, 2014
Last year's bombing was definitely an unbelievable tragedy and I can see how the authorities would want to improve security by smothering the race with personnel and with the latest technology available. But I think all it does is to provide a false sense of security for those who will be at this ye …
Oscar Pistorius: 'I Blame Myself for Taking Reeva's Life'
Mon Apr 14, 2014
In reply to: Retired Army-1933802 #3 His statement that "I blame myself for taking Reeva's life' has got to be the most idiotic statement I've ever heard!! Of course he has to blame himself, who else is there?
Missing MH370: Sub to Scour 'New to Man' Section of Ocean Floor
Mon Apr 14, 2014
I understand the vastness of the search area, but what's hard for me to believe is that with the number of planes and ships that have been searching for over a month now, none of them have spotted a single piece of debris from the plane. It would be nearly impossible for a plane of that size to have …
Commander: 'Very Difficult' Conditions Plague Search for MH370
Sun Apr 13, 2014
It's not that people don't want to know what happened to this plane, it's the constant reporting of the same damn things over and over again!! It has gotten to the point where I think most people, myself included, would rather them not say anything until they have something concrete to report!!

MH370 Black Box Rumors Unfounded: Search Leader
Fri Apr 11, 2014
In reply to: Bob Rae-9394872 #16 In the AirFrance crash a few years ago it took two years to recover the black boxes, but when they were recovered all the data was still intact, with the exception of a minute or two.
Malaysia Airlines Lost Prior Flight's Black Box Data
Thu Apr 10, 2014
In reply to: DeerRunner1 #4.7 I don't understand why the CVR can't record the events of a single flight and then be reset for the next flight? All the data from a flight would then be recorded, and if there were any "events" during a particular flight there would be no worry about them being erased …
Underwater Volcanoes, Uncharted Sea Bed May Hinder MH370 Hunt
Wed Mar 26, 2014
A couple of the reports have stated that a few of the search planes have spotted what they believe is debris from the plane, but when they go back they can't find it again due to the swift currents in that part of the ocean. If they dropped one of their marker buoys as soon as possible after they sp …
Missing MH370 'Ended' in Indian Ocean, Malaysia's PM Says
Mon Mar 24, 2014
I hope for the sake of the families that this latest report isn't premature. If the debris spotted turns out to be from some other source, the families will have the head of India's PM on a stick and rightfully so. I think it would have been more prudent to have waited until the HMS Success had reco …
Oscar Pistorius' Neighbor Heard 'Terrified, Terrified' Screams
Mon Mar 24, 2014
What strikes me as odd is Stipp's comment to her husband that it sounded like "family murder". Unless that sort of crime happens with some regularity in South Africa, I don't believe that phrase would come into anyone's vocabulary naturally. In this country if someone would hear female screams in th …
